Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.51%, while the index gained 1.13%, and the index added 0.69%.

The best performers of the session on the were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:), which rose 4.08% or 2.52 points to trade at 64.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:) added 2.87% or 1.07 points to end at 38.19 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:) was up 2.47% or 1.66 points to 68.96 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:), which fell 3.52% or 0.80 points to trade at 21.91 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) declined 2.34% or 0.22 points to end at 9.11 and Vonovia SE (ETR:) was down 1.77% or 0.42 points to 23.29.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which rose 6.99% to 23.73, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 6.47% to settle at 17.51 and Befesa SA (ETR:) which gained 5.36% to close at 27.92.

The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:) which was down 5.07% to 32.22 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which lost 3.16% to settle at 20.51 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 3.06% to 20.30 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 6.47% to 17.51, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 2.95% to settle at 10.63 and Kontron AG (ETR:) which gained 2.87% to close at 21.50.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.99% to 35.12 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which lost 3.06% to settle at 20.30 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was down 1.38% to 5.01 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 320 to 287 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Kontron AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.87% or 0.60 to 21.50. Shares in ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) fell to all time lows; falling 1.38% or 0.07 to 5.01.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.91% to 15.35 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 12.70 to $1,960.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.31% or 1.79 to hit $75.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.23% or 1.82 to trade at $79.79 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 105.35.
