Jeff Bezos moving from Seattle to Miami — and his two new mansions there

After nearly 30 years in Seattle, Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos is moving to Miami.

In an Instagram post Thursday night, the billionaire said he’s moving to Florida to be closer to his aging parents and to the Cape Canaveral, Fla., operations of his space company, Blue Origin.

“I’ve lived in Seattle longer than I’ve lived anywhere else and have so many amazing memories here,” Bezos said. “As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.”

Last month, Bezos, 59, bought a $79 million, seven-bedroom mansion on a private island in Biscayne Bay, two months after buying the house next door for $68 million. He has other homes too, including ones in Washington, Manhattan and Maui.
